Cathryn Sayer

DVM & Owner

Dr. Cathryn Sayer grew up in Boulder, Colorado. She knew from a young age that she had a passion for helping animals and a love of science, which lead her to become a veterinarian. She obtained a B.S. in Zoology at the University of Washington in Seattle, and then attended Washington State University (go Cougs!) for her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2009. 

Dr. Sayer began working at Animal Health Care Specialists in 2014, and learned as much as she could from Dr. Schulman until he retired and she took over the practice. Dr. Sayer loves what she does and is very grateful to be able to help animals and their loving pet parents every day. She is also grateful to have the best veterinary staff in Denver.

Nikki D'Anna

DVM

Dr. Nikki D'Anna grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Ohio State University for undergrad and obtained her B.S. in biology in 2018. She then went on to graduate from the University of Missouri with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2022 and joined the Animal Health Care Denver team! Dr. Nikki and her boyfriend Connor have always wanted to move out to Colorado and be near the mountains. They live with their two kitties, Everest and Grey. Dr. Nikki enjoys hiking, reading, playing volleyball, and spending time with friends and family. She can't wait to meet you and your pets soon!

Zachary Scott

DVM

Dr. Zachary Scott grew up in Seneca, Missouri: a small town on the Missouri-Oklahoma border. From a young age it was clear that a career studying and working with animals was in the future. After receiving a B.S. in Animal Science with a minor of Captive Wild Animal Management from the University of Missouri in 2016, Zachary worked as an assistant in equine and small animal veterinary clinics until beginning veterinary school at the University of Missouri in 2018. After graduating in May of 2022, Dr. Scott joined our team at Animal Health Care Denver!

Dr. Scott has one cat at home named Willow and two mules that live back in Missouri. Dr. Scott's interests include discovering new hiking spots, social activism, reading/audiobooks, and playing video games.

Eva

Registered Veterinary Technician

Eva is a Registered Veterinary Technician with Animal Health Care Denver. She graduated with her Veterinary Assistant certificate from Pima Medical Institute and has worked in the field for three years. Eva enjoys the technical functions of her job, such as blood draws which she performs often for Canine Blood Heroes, as well as working with parvo puppies. Eva has two hamsters, Coffee and Bean, three cats, Oreo, Brownie, and Tiny and a dog named Rosie. Some of her favorite hobbies are fishing, being in the mountains, and going to the Colorado Gator Farm.

Samantha

Registered Veterinary Technician

Samantha is a Registered Veterinary Technician with Animal Health Care Denver. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and has worked in the veterinary field for 2 years. The reward for Samantha is helping patients recover from an illness or injury and watching their progress as they get better. She has a soft spot for parvo puppies. She also works with Canine Blood Heroes to collect much needed blood donations. She lives with her dog, Scout. Samantha enjoys playing volleyball and hiking.

Yakelin

Veterinary Assistant

Yakelin is a Veterinary Assistant with Animal Health Care Denver. She graduated with her Veterinary Assistant certificate from Pima Medical Institute in Denver. Yakelin has been in the veterinary industry for about 3 years and is driven by wanting to help animals. She would like to work with large animals such as horses in the future. Having been raised in Mexico, Yakelin is bilingual in Spanish and English. She lives with a puppy poodle mix, Tuzi. Yakelin enjoys playing sports and being in the outdoors.

Kaila

Veterinary Assistant

As a Colorado native, Kaila earned her Associates degree in veterinary technology from Bel-Rea and has been working in the veterinary field since 2020. She has had a passion and drive to help animals since a young age. She enjoys blood draws, catheter placement and most of all puppy kisses! Horses have been a big part of her life; Kaila enjoys trick riding her horse Cheyenne and training her other horse, Bouley. In addition to spending time with her horses, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her two cats, Kitty and Blackie.

Judy

Receptionist

Judy is a Receptionist with Animal Health Care Denver. She has worked in the veterinary field for 21 years, working with shelter animals for 6 of those years helping to find homes for lost or unwanted pets. Judy enjoys establishing relationships with the clients, as well as the patients. She lives with a pug named Kiwi who is a firecracker! Kiwi keeps Judy company while walking, gardening and just being outdoors.
