At present our office is open, and we are transitioning to a minimal human contact format. We are asking anyone who comes in to call (303-288-6800) upon arrival. We will then ask you questions over the phone regarding the medical history of your pet. Please remain in your car and a technician will come and get your pet and take them inside. A doctor will then call you to go over the diagnostic and treatment recommendations. If you have a credit card on file we will use that for payment; if not, then we will take your credit card inside for the payment processing. We have confirmed with our payment processor that we do not need signatures in either scenario. In the event that you need to come inside we must maintain a 6 foot distance between clients and employees for all of our safety, and please limit the number of people who visit our facility as much as possible.
Keeping your pet healthy is as important to us as it is to you, which is why we are staying open and we want you to know that the staff at Animal Health Care Denver is here to help if your pet needs medical attention. We are also happy to help any of
your friends or family if their pet is in need of emergency care; we have the capability
to handle many emergency conditions.
Regarding wellness care such as annual exams/vaccines, dental procedures, and mass removals:
These procedures prolong life and enhance quality of life. We do not want your pets to suffer from painful dental infections or tumors, or develop life threatening internal problems due to lack of veterinary care and screening tests. Due to our minimal contact format, and that there has been no known transmission of coronavirus from pet dogs and cats to humans, we are comfortable continuing to provide these services during this time, though of course if you would like to postpone wellness care for 6 months we are also supportive of that decision. Please understand if you have a puppy due for a vaccine it is important that you bring them in for their scheduled vaccination to ensure s/he remains healthy.
Regarding Executive Order D 2020 009, Temporary Cessation of All Elective and Non-Essential Surgeries:
Our position on this issue is that we will suspend any truly elective surgeries (neutering being the most common). However, the majority of procedures that we perform are not elective. If a patient has a mass that could be cancerous, delaying surgery could allow the cancer to spread. Also, with our patients, by the time pet parents notice periodontal disease there is often significant infection in the mouth, and waiting months when oral infection is present can cause long term harm to liver, kidneys, and heart.
Of course if you have any known exposure to coronavirus we kindly ask that you do not visit or enter our facility until you have been quarantined and symptom free for 14 days.

We are equipped to provide emergency care (except for overnight hospitalization, which can be provided at local emergency clinics)
